Our Studio
Design rooted in
understanding
Vael Atelier is a Kuala Lumpur interior design studio. We work with people who want their spaces to feel considered — not just finished.
Back to HomeWho We Are
A studio built on craft and clarity
Vael Atelier was established in Bangsar with a straightforward premise: that interior design should serve the people who live and work in a space, not the other way around. Too often, design becomes a performance — surfaces selected for their appearance in photographs rather than their feel underfoot, furniture arranged for visual balance rather than daily use.
We came from a different position. The studio was shaped by years of work on projects where the brief was only half-written and the real challenge was drawing out what a client actually needed — which is rarely what they first asked for.
Today, Vael Atelier works across residential and smaller commercial spaces throughout the Klang Valley. Our process is structured, our documentation is thorough, and our relationships with local suppliers and craftspeople are long-standing. What we bring to each project is not a signature look, but a working method.

Meet the studio team
Nadia Razali
Founder & Principal Designer
Nadia brings over twelve years of residential and commercial design experience. Her approach is grounded in spatial logic and material honesty — details that hold up long after the project is done.
Arif Tarmizi
Senior Design Consultant
Arif specialises in technical documentation and 3D visualisation. His drawings translate design intent into something contractors can actually follow — reducing the gap between concept and construction.
Liyana Hassan
Project & Procurement Lead
Liyana manages the execution phase — supplier coordination, site visits, and contractor liaison. Her calm, methodical presence keeps projects on track from the first order to the final arrangement.
How We Work
Standards we hold ourselves to
Not aspirations — these are practical commitments that shape how every project is run from the first meeting to final handover.
Full design documentation
Every project receives detailed floor plans, elevations, material schedules, and a complete design book. Nothing is left to verbal agreement or memory.
Client data protection
All project materials, spatial data, and personal information are handled with care. We do not share client details with third parties without explicit consent.
Defined project milestones
Each engagement is structured around clear deliverable stages. Clients always know what is due, when, and what the next step will be.
Transparent supplier sourcing
We work with a curated network of Malaysian suppliers and craftspeople. Our sourcing decisions are based on quality and fit — not commission arrangements.
Structured client communication
Progress updates, revision reviews, and site reports are issued on schedule. We respond to enquiries within one business day.
Material responsibility
Where choices exist, we lean toward materials with lower environmental impact — local timber, natural textiles, and suppliers who can speak to their production practices.
Interior design in Kuala Lumpur built around your space
Vael Atelier serves clients across Bangsar, Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Mont Kiara, and the broader Klang Valley. Our work spans apartments and landed homes, boutique retail, professional offices, and hospitality spaces. Each project is treated as its own problem — the material palette, spatial organisation, and lighting approach are always specific to the brief, not pulled from a house style.
Interior design in Malaysia presents particular conditions: climate, light quality, local material availability, and the way people actually use their homes and workplaces here. Twelve years of working in this context has shaped a practice that is realistic, well-resourced, and attuned to what works in this part of the world.
